About Us

Bethany Missions is a ministry the aim of which is to bring blessing and spiritual growth to God's people. Jesus led His disciples out to Bethany and blessed them. Mike and Sue Grimshaw want to be used of the Lord to bring the blessing of Jesus to today's followers of Jesus.

Mike is the son of a pastor, and gave his life to the Lord when he was 8 years old. By the time he was 14 he was baptized in the Holy Spirit. In his early twenties he came to the US and met Sue at a small Bible School in Springfield, Missouri. They were married in 1972 and since then have been on the mission field in Peru, and have lived in the UK and Ireland as well as here in the US. They have also travelled to, and ministered in other countries. Sue was also born in to a Christian family, and gave her life to the Lord at an early age. Sue has a tremendous ministry in encouraging God's people.

Mike and Sue have a desire to see God's people move into all that they are called to. Jesus asked the question "....when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?" That is a question that we need to answer with a resounding "Yes", but Jesus asked the question, because it is in question. We want to encourage people to grow in faith, move in the gifts of the Spirit and come into a greater trust in the Lord. Some pastors are not interested in their people moving in the gifts of the Spirit, because it can get messy, not everyone moves in the Spirit all the time, sometimes they move in the flesh. But there are several reasons why God gave the gifts of the Spirit, and everything He does, He does with a purpose.

Mike and Sue attend Faith Worship Center in Aurora, Missouri. Arnold Ray Evans is the pastor. There are very few pastors with the love and care for God's people that Arnold and his wife, Coleen, have. Arnold is very prophetic, and can be very direct with what he shares, both with the congregation, and also to individuals, but it is always done with such love. He is always eager to give others opportunities to minister. He is a very anointed speaker, sharing truth that affects us all where the rubber hits the road. We are seeing the Lord begin to move in wonderful ways in the church.

Recently Mike and his friend Brent Nigh ran a ten week school of ministry in the church. Both people from the local church and other churches attended. Those attending found that they could hear from God and move in the prophetic and also pray for healing. One young woman who went to visit another church in Georgia, realized that the Lord was wanting her to give the worship leader in that church a prophetic word. She was up in the balcony, she went down and walked to where the worship leader was and gave him the word that the Lord had for him. He told her that it was a confirmation to what the Lord was speaking to him. This was very exciting for her, because she had never moved in prophecy before.

A few years ago Mike returned to Peru with his friend Dennis Walker, where they were involved in three weeks of ministry in crusades, a pastors seminar and various churches. The following year Mike returned to Peru to teach in a pastors seminar in Lima, and to minister in churches in other parts of the country and also in a convention in a city in the Andes mountains. Bethany Missions is a ministry which will facilitate further such missionary trips, not only for Mike and Sue, but also for others who wish to travel with them. Each year for the last five years Mike has returned to the UK to minister in a conference hosted by his brother, Bob Grimshaw. Bob and his wife Julie pastor a church in Kirkham. Our friends Dennis & Lynnie Walker and Wendell McGowan have also ministered in that conference and we have seen the Lord move in wonderful ways, and seen God's people activated, so that they too can move in the wonderful works of God.
